Personal Holdings

In the spirit of full disclosure, I am providing the stock allocations in my personal portfolio. This should give investors some confidence that I have skin in the game. All of my family’s living expenses are generated from this portfolio and I manage it myself. I do maintain some cash and other short term investments, but these stocks represent over 90% of my portfolio on average. I realize this is a very concentrated portfolio and do not advocate this approach for investors who cannot tolerate a lot of volatility.

My investing horizon is generally long term (3-5 years), but I will move out of a position if the investment thesis has changed. Also, while I keep a long term view, I may substantially increase or reduce my percentage allocation to each stock within quarters based on near term execution of the thesis. Some software stocks will idle for a couple of quarters and then regain momentum.

A few notes on these allocations. First, I have covered some the traditional software infrastructure providers in the past and they still make up a good portion of my portfolio. Second, I have been leaning more into AI in late 2023 and 2024. This is evidenced primarily by new positions in NVDA and TSLA. Also, noteworthy is that each of the “traditional” software infrastructure companies have a product strategy which allows them to participate in the AI investment wave.
